Behavioral SJT: Strategy and Examples
Context
You are completing a 60-item behavioral situational judgment test (Likert scale: Strongly Disagree → Strongly Agree). You may split the assessment across sessions but must finish within 4 days. If you pass, the result remains valid for 2 years.
Task
Explain how you would approach the test to:
-
Read and interpret each statement carefully, especially when two items sound similar but differ in meaning.
-
Avoid overusing Neutral by committing to Agree/Disagree when your behavior could vary, reserving Strongly Agree/Disagree for clear convictions.
-
Maintain internal consistency and avoid contradictory responses (e.g., not endorsing both "I make all purchases online" and "I must touch items to judge quality before ordering").
-
Manage time if it takes longer than the suggested 30 minutes.
Provide concrete examples of choices and reasoning.
