My three-round process began with a talent screening call and then a deeper technical conversation with technical hiring managers. That discussion covered complex hyperscaler facility design, including dual-path hydraulic loops, strict thermal-margin calculations when switching between air and liquid cooling in mixed-density data halls, and rapid economizer or free-cooling switchovers during extreme weather changes. The managers listened closely, and that round felt productive.
The final director interview shifted the tone. I was asked advanced immersion-cooling questions about dielectric fluids and the mechanical operation of adiabatic cooling systems. I answered in detail but would not disclose proprietary work still under patent process. After I set that boundary, the conversation felt interrogational, condescending, and patronizing, as if I were seen as less capable for protecting legal intellectual property.
I did not get an offer. The earlier discussion showed strong engineering conversation, but the final round felt hostile and unprofessional. It was difficult to see the quality of an interview collapse over leadership's handling of confidential work.
Location: London, England. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
