The process started well. The recruiter seemed organized, and I was excited about the opportunity. Once I reached the interviews, though, it became difficult to take the process seriously. In one session, I was put on hold immediately. The recruiter then read questions from a script without much back and forth, and I didn't feel the interviewer was genuinely engaged with my background. The hiring manager portion became a time sink because it started late, had audio setup problems that weren't my fault, and seemed to avoid discussing my actual solution.
In another round, the interviewer was dismissive and unhelpful. They laughed at points, rushed the conversation, and tried to "pre-answer" ideas before I had enough time to think. The same lack of clarity appeared elsewhere. System-style prompts were framed like realistic Airtable features, but the constraints weren't well explained, so I entered rounds confused about what was being asked. I also encountered a case where a recruiter promised next steps for scheduling, then I received an auto-rejection after delays, with no meaningful explanation.
I wasn't asking for unrealistic concessions, but the process felt disrespectful and disjointed at points. I ended without an offer. My most honest reflection is that the evaluation wasn't only about technical fit. It was also about control, professionalism, and whether the process itself was being taken seriously.
