A 30-minute panel. It starts with a self-introduction, but the intro itself isn't the point. The main thing is that you need to explain why you're interested in the company's mission, so look up the mission statement on their website beforehand and talk about it.
System design, 45 minutes. It was to build a real-time 3D playback system given logs of data. It's the toy-car modeling question that has shown up here before. The key is to use the same idea as YouTube playback: only pull chunks of logs instead of all the logs at once, and you can also cache a bit of the logs around nearby timestamps ahead of time. It felt very similar to the 3D playback system Uber open-sourced, so go read their blog to get familiar with it.
They give you an S3 bucket of log data, and you get 2 hours to build the small app from the system design above. The Claude Fable 5 that the company provides works really well. Basically you hand the system design from the previous step to it and have it build a minimal project first. The key is to get the AI to inspect the data in the provided S3 bucket. You can download one or two small files, have the AI analyze them, and then build.
Then a 30-minute walkthrough of the project you just built. A tip is to have the AI write a README.md for you after it finishes the app, which makes it easier to present. You can talk about which trade-offs you made in the project and what future development ideas you have for the app.
After passing the onsite they scheduled a 45-minute behavioral round. The questions are about any decision you made from school onward, whether school, major, or job experience: why did you choose this? What alternatives did you have? What did you learn from this experience?
