New here, sharing my fresh interview experience from the last few days. Gotta say, ByteDance's efficiency is really something — for every round, I got notified I passed just 3 hours after the interview ended. Want to ask everyone on the forum: what should I watch out for in the +2 skip-level manager interview?
-
Product Manager round (very short, ~15 min questions)
- Self-introduction
- My most successful project
- Difficulties in the project, and how I solved them
- Where the requirements came from
- How priority was determined
- Reason for leaving my current job
- Introduced the department
- My questions for them
-
LD round (45 min)
- Self-introduction
- Deep dive into projects
- What I was responsible for in Project A
- Since Project A didn't have much depth to it, we moved on to Project B
- What I was responsible for in Project B
- Where the requirements came from
- What features Project B had
- The scale of Project B
- How I solved the difficulties
- Priority
- Personal strengths and weaknesses
- Reason for job-hopping
- Why I've switched jobs so frequently
- Introduction
- My questions for them — asked about the roadmap, and how they see themselves
- They said I seem like a pretty good fit for the team, but flagged one small issue — I didn't directly answer some of the details, and they hoped that in future interviews, if I mishear or misunderstand a question, I should just ask for clarification instead
- They asked specifically which parts I hadn't answered and had me fill in the answers
- Also asked whether I know how to write a PRD

LD +1 (skip-level) round scheduled for next week
