I mass-applied online, and HR reached out to set up an interview directly — there was no HR phone screen first. They never shared the job details or the salary range, and went straight to scheduling a 30-minute behavioral round with the hiring manager.
The behavioral round with the manager went okay. I asked him about salary and he had no idea about anything. After getting through the behavioral round, I landed two onsite rounds:
Round one was coding — the interviewer never showed up.
Round two was system design with a manager — design a restaurant reservation system, not that hard.
While I was still writing out the various table designs, he kept firing off deep-dive questions and interrupting, completely stone-faced and out of patience the whole time. At around the 30-minute mark, he apparently didn't feel like keeping up the act anymore and said, "You need to work on your design skills then we will consider you in the future." Then he just left the interview. What a jerk!
I'm nothing special, but I've done system design rounds at plenty of companies, big and small, and the feedback has always been fine — and I still got belittled like that. Zero respect, completely unprofessional. Everyone should avoid this company. Forget the pay — one interviewer doesn't even show up, and the one who does is nasty to you. Even if you land the offer, it's probably not a great place to be.
