My IBM process began with an on-campus assessment that combined multiple-choice questions and coding. Only a limited number of students were shortlisted. The technical interview took a fixed hour block and went well enough that the interviewer gave positive feedback.
Afterward, HR announced names for the next stage in waves. When my name was not in the first list, I assumed I had been rejected. It appeared in a later list, but further narrowing followed and I was not in the final selection. In an earlier campus interview, I also dealt with an interviewer who seemed distracted, took calls, interrupted me, and switched to questions for a different role.
I did not receive an offer. The process taught me how much composure and patience can matter when later stages are outside my control.
