My interview had two rounds on the same day. First was an online assessment where I could choose between coding problems and had about 30 minutes to solve one. I then had a technical interview focused heavily on core computer-science fundamentals and the projects on my resume.
The technical interviewer also introduced low-level design. They tested my problem-solving and communication as well as what I understood. It felt harder because they were not only checking whether I could code. They wanted design-level reasoning too. I left thinking it was a serious screen rather than a casual conversation, while appreciating how directly it tied back to fundamentals.
