Sigh, I felt like I did okay, but it still ended in tragedy. Thanks to the forum for the help, even though most of these questions were already in the earlier posts.
The other rounds were pretty much the same as what is already posted. I did not see details on the statistics and probability questions, or on the KV store question, so let me add them.
One question: you roll a 6-sided die 1000 times, and you are asked for the probability that the sum of the values exceeds 600. First you have to know this is a normal distribution. For a single die, the mean of the face value is 3.5 and the variance is 1.71. Then if you add 100 normal distributions together, you have to know how the mean and variance are computed. Then you convert to a standard normal distribution, use the normal CDF, and you get the probability.
For the KV store, also watch out for the time complexity limits. You can record each write operation and then process them in reverse, which saves the complexity of checkpoints. There is also the question of how to determine that a written key is not ambiguous. For example, say there are two keys, ABC and ABD. When I read AB, I have to return ambiguous, because there are already two keys with the prefix AB.
Even though I have many years of work experience, my technical skills are not good. I will keep working at it. I hope this helps the people interviewing after me. Finding a job is not easy, so be kind to yourselves, and be kind to the family members who love you.
