A recruiter contacted me first, and I then went through what felt like a standard path from screening to the loop. The initial technical screen covered SQL and product sense. The questions were very much about connecting data work to business decisions. A couple of weeks later, I moved into the full loop.
That loop had four rounds: analytical execution, analytical reasoning, technical skills, and behavioral. SQL came up a lot. I also had to reason about product metrics, experiments, statistics, and explain my thinking clearly. It was not presented as a set of gotcha questions, but the open-ended format meant I had to keep my reasoning organized instead of relying on memorized answers.
The whole process took a while. It ultimately did not work out for me, and I could not get through the full-loop part. What stayed with me was how much weight they put on the reasoning behind an answer, not only on the final calculation.
