System Design

• Instagram auction system — users can bid and see the real-time highest bid. The interviewer challenged me on why I used optimistic locking (Instagram has celebrity accounts, and in the end he wanted pessimistic locking instead). Everything else was pretty similar to HelloInterview.

BQ

• Standard stuff: constructive feedback, conflicts, etc.

A week later they told me the feedback was good and it was going to the Hiring Committee. Another week after that, they told me HC rejected me — wouldn't even tell me the feedback. Rough.
