Oscar Health Software Engineer interview: algorithms, system design, and manager round

Oscar Health·Software Engineer·Reported Jun 2026
Technical ScreenMedium

A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn, and the process became three rounds. I started with a technical phone screen. The next round covered both an algorithms-style screen and system design, and the final stage was a manager screen.

I would not say every detail went perfectly smoothly, but the structure held together: technical evaluation first, then a leadership conversation at the end. I was not offered the role.

What stayed with me was how deliberately the process tested more than one technical dimension, even though it did not work out in my favor.

Location: New York, NY. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
