The role I interviewed for is the one in the posting I linked. It doesn't feel like a pure coding job, more like half code and half product.
First round was a phone screen. It was an OOD question, something like implementing Kafka's partitions. The problem statement was very long and I spent a long time just reading it. Basically you have to assign each newly arriving message to one of the different Kafka partitions, the number of partitions is a field of the class, and you also have to support adding more partitions.
The second round was about designing a phone-calling agent, but it wasn't a system design round. I got rejected in this round for no reason I could understand. The task was to design an agent for a property management company: their customers call the agent and say which services they need, book when someone should come to fix things, and so on.
The interviewer was all smiles, and then turned around and sent me a rejection letter.
