I went into the recruiter-stage meeting expecting something more thoughtful, but it was oddly dry and transactional. It felt like someone was just ticking boxes. There wasn't much back-and-forth or emotional engagement, and I didn't feel like the interviewer was listening so much as running through a script. That gave me a pretty negative impression from the start.
As I thought more about what I'd heard about the role and the company, that feeling didn't improve. The organization seemed very confident in its approach, but I couldn't shake the impression that its value proposition might eventually fizzle out as AI advances. Between the cold tone early on and my doubts about the company's direction, I didn't feel the role would be a good match for me.
