After the recruiter screen, I was told the hiring-manager interview would be a straightforward conversation with one technical question at the end. Instead, brief introductions led into deep theoretical statistics and difficult mental math. The interviewer moved extremely fast. When I was unsure or interpreted something differently, I didn't feel I received enough clarification to get back on track.
An earlier HR-oriented round had already included probability and statistics brain teasers. I worked through linear-regression objective functions, expectation and variance, a coin-toss problem where choosing the right distribution mattered, and related probability reasoning. It was quite different from a typical resume conversation.
I didn't receive an offer. I found the interviews difficult and heavily focused on statistics and probability. What stayed with me was the expectation of immediate technical fluency, at a pace that gave me little room to recover when I needed more guidance.
Location: Seattle, WA. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
