xAI's 15-minute call.

The interviewer started by introducing himself and giving a quick overview of the team. Then I introduced myself, talked about what I'm working on right now, and went deep into my project — walked him through the whole thing end to end. He asked about challenges and I answered that too. After all of that, he suddenly threw in a more basic question: what's the difference between multiprocessing and multithreading. I learned this in school so I answered it, then gave examples of which parts of what I'm currently building use multithreading. Last was Q&A — I asked whether xAI really expects people to work seven days a week. The interviewer told me he personally can take weekends off, but weekdays are genuinely busy.

Overall this felt like an interview that really depends on your vibe with the interviewer — very personal. We still had a pretty good chat, and what I'm working on (or what his team is going to work on) seemed a little bit similar. About an hour after we finished, they told me I passed.
