the Groupon Coupon Mini-Case

Just finished the mini case this morning, and by the afternoon I already had the pass notification along with a scheduled power day for next week — I have to say the recruiter I got this time was way better than the last one. While it's still fresh, let me report back to everyone. Hoping next week's power day goes smoothly. At the start, the interviewer briefly introduced his background, had me i…

Two Attempts, a Cancelled Headcount, and an Energy Case Interview

My Capital One interview process has been quite a rollercoaster so far — over the past month or so I've interviewed twice. Timeline The first time was through a referral from a friend, for a newly posted analytics role: 1/16: HR Call scheduled 1/24: HR Call rescheduled to 1/31 — the reason was that when the original interview time came, I sat on my phone waiting for over half an hour, then HR fin…

OA, Data Challenge, and a Four-Round Power Day

At the end of July, a friend referred me for a Capital One SDA position. Then nothing for about a month. 9/5: The recruiter emailed with the OA, valid for one week. The OA wasn't hard but the time was tight — 70 minutes for 15 questions, 14 multiple choice and 1 SQL. The first seven questions used one CSV, the eighth was the SQL question, and the last seven used four more CSVs where you had to me…

the Ride-Share Profitability Mini Case

I just finished my mini case this morning, sharing it while I still remember everything. I've gotten a lot of help here, so I wanted to give back too. Hope everyone's interviews go well. Today's interview was the exact question someone here had already shared — the original Google Doc question — and of course that was the one question I hadn't gotten around to preparing. Felt like I'd practiced p…

A Grocery Loyalty Case With a Database-Outage Twist

I finished my interview in the afternoon and got notified the next day that I'd passed. But my next round wasn't a PD round — it was another case interview instead. I don't know if any of the intern applicants here can confirm whether this is the standard process for everyone. For the mini case, the interviewer introduced themselves and then we got started. It was the grocery loyalty membership c…

The Energy One Mini Case and a Same-Day Power Day Callback

Mini case, midday on 3/18/2025. The question was one someone had already shared here before — the Energy One case. The interviewer gave a short self-introduction, then asked about my background — worth remembering to prep for that too, I was so focused on the mini case that I answered it pretty roughly. Then we got into the actual case. There's an energy company called Energy One that wants to tr…

Data Challenge, Power Day, Offer in 3 Days

Reading interview reports here helped me a lot, so I'm giving back with my own timeline and report. Got an HR call at the end of February, and scheduled an HM call for a week later. The hiring manager was great — she mostly shared her own experience and what the team does, then went through my resume in detail. After the HM call in early March, I got a Data Challenge. Very classic problem, overal…

A 70-Minute OA With 14 Excel and SQL Questions

Timeline: applied mid-April, got the OA invite in early May. Duration: 70 minutes. Content: 14 questions total, with a big SQL question in the middle. The content matched what people have shared here in past years almost exactly — really grateful to everyone who shared before me, it was super useful for prepping! Questions 1-7: you download a csv file. The one I got was about an online ad platfor…

A 14-Question Excel and SQL Online Assessment

The exam had 14 quiz questions total, with one big SQL question in the middle. The content was almost exactly like what people have shared here in past years — really grateful for those write-ups, they were super helpful for prep! Questions 1-7: you download a CSV file. The one I got was about an online ad platform — A/B testing, watch time, dates, that kind of thing. The HR email had actually me…

A TV-Show Cancellation Case, Then a Power Day Invite in 90 Minutes

Q1 - They asked the TV series case: assume you're the CEO of this company, and the company currently has a TV show called Analyst. When you're deciding whether to cancel this show, what factors do you need to consider? I answered from the revenue and cost angle. After I finished, the interviewer asked a follow-up, something like "do you think you need to consider the market situation?" I got what…

What are interview experiences?

An interview experience is a candidate's own account of a hiring loop — not a question bank entry. It tells you the shape of the process: how many rounds there were, what each round actually tested, how long the gaps between them ran, and what the recruiter said at the end. That context is the part a question list cannot give you.

How to read them

Weight recent write-ups more heavily — interview loops change, often within a year. Read several for the same company and role rather than one: a single account tells you what one interviewer asked, while five tell you what the bar is. Note the outcome badge too, since a rejection write-up usually explains the gap far more precisely than an offer one.

Share your own

Every published experience earns 50 XP, and each of the first 3 likes it receives in a day earns you 10 XP more. Likes must come from established accounts; like-for-like swaps and likes from your own second account are not paid. Write it while the details are fresh — the round order, the exact prompts, and how much time you were given are what the next reader needs.
