### Clarifying Questions
- Should the forecast cover only recorded music, or also live music and the podcasts and audiobooks that music apps now carry?
- Global, or one particular market? Mature subscription markets and fast-growing, lower-priced markets may head in different directions.
- From whose point of view: a pure-play streaming service, a platform company that bundles music with other services, a record label, or artists?
- What time horizon: the next two or three years, or the next decade?
### What a Strong Answer Covers
- An accurate picture of today's economics: who pays, who gets paid, and why streaming services' margins are thin.
- The main forces of change, such as saturation and pricing, emerging markets, new formats, AI-generated music, royalty reform and discovery moving to short video, and the direction each one pushes.
- A clear, committed point of view, supported by a few plausible scenarios rather than a list of trends.
- Implications for streaming services and the other players, including what a service should do now.
- Leading indicators that would confirm or refute the forecast, and the largest risks to it.
### Follow-up Questions
- If you ran strategy at a streaming service, which single bet would you make based on your forecast, and what would you deliberately not do?
- Will exclusive content become the main way music services compete, the way it has in video streaming? Why or why not?
- How should a streaming service treat fully AI-generated tracks in its catalog, its recommendations and its royalty pool?
