What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is OpenAI’s conversational application. For this exercise, focus on a text assistant that generates responses from a prompt and selected conversation context. Common tasks include:

• Simplifying technical subjects.

• Suggesting ideas for a draft or plan.

• Composing clear, well-structured text.

A language model generates text rather than selecting only from a fixed answer list. That flexibility also allows plausible mistakes. A system should ask for clarification when missing information changes the task, and evaluate factual quality separately from fluent writing.
