Glean Interview Questions
Glean's bank is gentler than most on this site: of its 19 questions, 4 are rated easy against only 3 hard, with 12 medium in between. 12 of the 19 open in a runnable console, a high proportion for a bank this size, because 11 are coding problems: the kth largest element across two sorted arrays, restoring an array after a single element has been displaced, and writing a byte pair encoding tokenizer from scratch. The analytics questions are where candidates separate. One asks you to compute DAU and a rolling MAU while accounting for days with zero activity; the follow-up asks how much error a user ID rehash introduces into MAU, which is really a question about whether you know what a unique user is. Roles come out at 11 Software Engineer, 4 Data Scientist and 4 Machine Learning Engineer, so the same coding bar turns up in all three loops, and one behavioural prompt asks how you would prioritise QA work against a deadline. 14 were technical screens, 5 onsite, and 10 carry a written solution.
