I hadn't applied when Alten Spain contacted me on LinkedIn. The recruiter described a simpler process than the one I eventually went through and said my profile would stay in the database for future opportunities even if I chose not to continue. I wasn't expecting such a long process.
It began with an HR screen and a backend technical-lead interview, which went well. I completed a backend assignment with a five-day deadline, then met the same lead again to explain my implementation and choices. I found that part professional and pleasant.
The problems came afterward. Two HR contacts didn't seem aligned even on my application status. I then had a React-focused technical interview, which also went well and required no further task. Next, I was told I'd interview with Carrefour. The preparation call with an Alten commercial representative felt unprofessional: they joined late and kept sending me messages while we spoke, making preparation tiring.
The client interview was the most concerning part. There were backend and frontend technical leads as well as other client representatives. The experience frustrated me more because of how the process was managed than because of my technical level. It was disappointing that the technical stages had gone well while the overall coordination hadn't.
