A recruiter contacted me about a different account-management role. The email said the interview would be competency based and focused on Amazon Leadership Principles. There was not supposed to be an HR prescreen, and the confirmation did not suggest a complicated set of materials.
On the day, the format changed in a frustrating way. I was suddenly given an Excel-sheet task without advance notice or guidance. Even basics such as needing a laptop had not been covered. The session did not match what I had been told, so I spent more time reacting to the mismatch than showing the depth of my leadership stories.
I did not get an offer. Afterward, I felt that clear expectations mattered as much as preparation. I could handle the task itself, but the lack of alignment made it difficult to show the competencies the original communication said would be evaluated.
Location: Cairo, Cairo Governorate. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: no offer.
