Leadership principles became the center of my loop, even though coding was still part of it. I went in expecting generally easy-to-medium LeetCode-style questions, but the interviewers pressed much harder on leadership-principle stories than I expected. Across several rounds, there was a block of leadership-principle drilling followed by coding questions in that same LeetCode vein.
The behavioral discussion was specific. Follow-ups asked what I had personally done and kept returning to leadership themes. I still had to solve problems in the coding rounds, but I kept noticing how often the conversation circled back to leadership mapping. Rehearsing scenarios until I could tell them cleanly mattered.
I did not get an offer. The hardest part was not recalling technical material. It was keeping my stories organized while the interview kept steering toward leadership-principle alignment. That changed how I judged myself during the process: it felt less like one coding mistake and more like whether my communication matched what they wanted.
