Amazon DSP Software Engineer technical loop with leadership-principle bar raiser

After a recruiter conversation, I had a roughly hour-long technical phone screen. Once I cleared it, the process moved into scheduled loop interviews. It was structured, but intense.

The loop combined coding with Amazon-style leadership discussions. I had two coding-heavy sessions: one began at medium LeetCode difficulty and another went into harder territory. There was also a system-design discussion about architecture, scalability, and reliability. The bar raiser shifted into behavioral problem solving around leadership principles, with deep questions about ownership, ambiguity, customer obsession, and conflict. The focus was my own reasoning rather than memorized answers.

The back-to-back rounds in one tight day were tiring. Different interviewers emphasized different things, but the theme held. I worked to explain my approach and edge cases while supporting STAR stories. I did not receive an offer, though I appreciated how directly the process tested technical depth and thinking under pressure.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: Positive. Offer status: no offer.
