Amazon Software Engineer interview: brain teasers and OA rejection

Amazon·Software Engineer·Reported Jun 2026
Online AssessmentRejectedHard

The process began with online recruitment quizzes or an OA, and those early steps set the tone. One path was packed with brain-teaser-style questions that did not match the job I was applying for. It made the process feel disrespectful of my time.

In another attempt at the same general funnel stage, I submitted OA solutions and received a rejection a few days later. That assessment was more typical coding on algorithms and data structures, but it ended quickly. There were no later rounds after it.

Neither path gave me much opportunity to show depth beyond the online stage. The shared theme was an early, fast judgment that never turned into live interviews, and I did not make it through.

Location: Mountain View, CA. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: no offer.
