My online assessment combined coding with questions about how I work. It included classic coding problems and AI-assisted project or debugging prompts where I traced issues through a realistic repository. There was also a leadership or fit component and a substantial system-design element. By then, I could see the assessment covered much more than standard LeetCode questions.
Next came a recruiter step, followed by live coding and a system-design interview with two design questions. Behavioral questions came up throughout, covering communication, collaboration and fit. Interviewers sometimes spent a large part of the hour digging into my past experiences, so I used STAR-style stories instead of just describing my projects.
It felt like a full, multi-stage interview loop. I had to show how I organized my thinking across coding, debugging, design and leadership stories. I didn't get an offer. For me, the hardest part was switching between all those kinds of work under time pressure.
