After I cleared the initial steps, I had a phone-screen-style discussion that ran longer than expected and went deeply into implementation. The interviewer pressed me on an LRU cache: how I would combine a hashmap and doubly linked list, and how eviction would work. System-design examples on eviction policies had helped me prepare, so I could explain the reasoning instead of reciting a solution.
The process then expanded into technical and behavioral rounds. The loop included data-structures-and-algorithms questions, basic OOP and DBMS concepts, and Amazon Leadership Principles. There was also a low-level design component that focused on building something concrete rather than remaining high level.
I did not get the result I wanted, but the evaluation felt solid. My performance seemed to turn on how well I handled the deeper implementation expectations. It felt average overall: neither easy nor chaotic, but very much about detailed work rather than broad understanding.
