Amazon Software Engineer interview: leadership-principle loop

Amazon·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026
Hard

Amazon's loop was four to five back-to-back interviews, roughly 45 to 60 minutes each. The panel included a potential hiring manager, one or two team members, a senior leader, and a bar raiser. The pace was relentless because I had to stay sharp across several perspectives.

Leadership Principles were spread across the panel. Each interviewer owned a couple, and together they covered all of them. That made every conversation feel connected to one evaluation framework instead of a series of unrelated interviews.

I did not get an offer. The hardest part was keeping my explanation clear through so many sessions in a row, where even a small lapse felt magnified by the number of rounds.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
