Amazon Software Engineer interview: technical and leadership rounds

Amazon·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026

My process had multiple technical rounds and a couple of structured behavioral rounds. One technical conversation mixed troubleshooting with leadership themes such as Bias for Action and GenAI fluency, so it was not solely about writing code.

Another technical round focused more directly on coding problems. The hiring-manager round covered leadership principles including Earn Trust, Learn and Be Curious, and Operational Excellence. The Bar Raiser round went deeper on ownership.

The overall difficulty felt easy, and the interviews were clearly organized. I did not receive an offer, but I left feeling the criteria were consistent across rounds and that they were trying to see how I approached both technical and leadership dimensions.

Location: Hyderābād. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
