Amazon Software Engineer interview with an emergency reschedule and four-part final loop

Amazon·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026
Hard

After recruiter communication, scheduling moved smoothly except for an interviewer emergency that required a reschedule. I eventually reached the final loop, which had four back-to-back technical interviews. Each covered a different area: data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design, system design, and behavioral questions tied to Amazon's Leadership Principles. The coding interviews were challenging. I had to produce working solutions while explaining my reasoning and trade-offs, and the behavioral discussion asked for concrete examples from my past.

The follow-ups were adaptive. Interviewers did not simply follow a script. They adjusted based on what I said, and some spent time going deeper into my projects and technical background instead of cutting me off quickly. Even with the difficulty, the tone stayed professional and respectful.

Location: Vancouver, BC. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
