Applied Materials Software Engineer interview with a calm technical and behavioral process

Applied Materials·Software Engineer·Reported Jul 2026
Easy

I had a calmer, low-stress process overall because the people running it were accommodating. The recruiter and interviewers were helpful, and the process felt like it was moving forward instead of dragging. I didn't feel anxious as it went on, and the tone matched how they treated me as an applicant.

The interviews began with the usual conversation about my background, why I wanted the role, and how my past work fit what they needed. I also talked through relevant experience in the context of their industry. Later, the technical portion stayed with standard developer questions and included behavioral questions, rather than becoming an intense or adversarial session.

The process felt smooth and considerate, and I felt respected even though the outcome wasn't captured as an offer for me.

Location: Lehi, UT. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
