Recruiter outreach led to a virtual interview with several hiring managers. The conversation was heavily behavioral and lasted about an hour. They asked about my background, what I'd done before, and how my experience could benefit the company. I was repeatedly asked to explain my past work clearly instead of simply naming projects.
It started with the usual "tell me about yourself" question, then moved into challenges and how I had handled specific situations. They also gave me time to ask questions, so the conversation didn't feel one-sided. STAR-style storytelling came up often, even when they didn't use that exact wording. They wanted to hear the situation, what I did, and what happened afterward.
The round felt straightforward and well organized. I spoke with managers and a broader group from the team, and communication from the hiring side was quick. The atmosphere was professional. I felt that I had answered directly and thoroughly, without any real curveballs beyond the level of detail they expected from my examples.
