The hardest part for me was a case interview where I initially struggled to understand the question. The interviewer guided me through calculating the answer across a series of steps, but I could not fully follow what they were asking. I kept clarifying and asking questions. The case was about launching a new game with free and paid visibility in the market.
Even with the guidance, it was tense because I had to track what the interviewer meant while doing the math. Once I worked out which inputs mattered, I could move forward, but getting aligned at the start took a lot of energy.
I then still had later-stage case and product-style discussion. The case component could be harder than the headline "numbers-based" description suggested, especially when the problem statement was unclear to me. I did not get an offer, but I appreciated the interviewer walking me through the calculations. My takeaway was that understanding the question clearly mattered as much as doing the computations.
