Capital One Business Analyst interview with a mini case and Power Day

After an initial recruiter call, the process moved quickly to a mini case and then straight into a Power Day. It felt standard for a Business Analyst track: an HR conversation about what to expect, followed by quantitative case-style questions in the mini case. The Power Day was the heavier part, with several back-to-back interviews.

During Power Day, I had case interviews and a product-focused round. The cases used profitability-style thinking and business math, and at least one hour-long conversation mixed in behavioral prompts. What surprised me was how much depended on getting to the answer they wanted. If I did not land there, I was not given much guidance to get unstuck.

The difficulty was in the middle range. Interviewers were generally helpful, and the preparation materials felt appropriate, but I still had to be crisp with assumptions and calculations because the format did not slow down for clarification. The experience was smooth overall. I did not receive an offer, but by the final case interview I understood the expectations better.

Location: McLean, VA. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
