Capital One Data Analyst Interview Experience — Same OA, Now Cruise-Themed Instead of Superheroes

I noticed there isn't much here about this OA, and I just finished mine, so I wanted to share. The two Canada-version posts from 2024 are completely outdated now — what's being tested currently is very similar to another report I found. Basically the approach for every question is the same, except it's no longer about superheroes, it's about cruises now. There are 12 questions total, but the first one is really just the acknowledgment form, so it's more like 11 real questions. Here's roughly what I remember:

1. Acknowledge
2. Calculate win rate = wins / total missions
3. Solve a one-variable equation, and remember to divide the result by the number of future days. So it should be x / days
4. Group by rest time and calculate the average win rate
5. It's not clear which location actually needs a cruise, so I picked the 3 cruises with the highest average win rate to send
6. Locations A, B, and C each need a cruise. Look at the win rate of the different cruises at these 3 locations, and pick the combination that gives the max total across the 3 cruises
7. Find the mode — one thing to note here is that once you find the mode, the answer should be row 1 of that group
8. Not totally sure about this one. My approach was that the 3 cruises cover roughly the middle region, so we need to cover the start and the end, and cruise 1 and cruise 2 seemed like the better fit for that. Cruise 2 has a lower damage rate, so I picked cruise 2. This might need to factor in mission length, but I checked and the mission length is roughly similar to the region those 3 cruises cover. So I just went with covering some of the extreme cases.
9. Calculate the new team's win rate — here it's 572 * r = 422, then work it out from there.

There are also a few questions that ask you to explain in writing why you picked that option.
