Capital One Data Analyst interview: SQL and final business case

After a recruiter screen, I took an online technical test and then went through rounds that felt much more business heavy than advertised. The test had one basic SQL question and a larger set of data-manipulation multiple-choice items. The first interview mixed business-case work with a very quick SQL component, and a later technical round had easy LeetCode-style questions.

The mismatch showed up in the longest business case, a two-hour exercise that felt like an extended version of the earlier business round. It could be difficult without prior exposure to that format, and I failed the final business-case round. Across the interview day, most of the time went to cases that did not closely match SQL or technical work. There were few behavioral or project-experience questions.

Location: McLean, VA. Overall feedback: negative. Offer status: no offer.
