After a recruiter screening call, the process quickly moved into a mini case on a Capital One product. I received charts, interpreted the data from an A/B-testing perspective, and then zoomed out to a UX review where I made recommendations from what I saw.
About a day later, I had Power Day, a long series of interviews that mixed product skills, product discovery, and heavier case work. One part covered basics in a grounded way: customer understanding, the technology stack behind the application, the product's purpose, and why Capital One would invest money in it. Another was more like textbook discovery questions. The hardest part was a math-centered profit case about revenue, costs, and how different assumptions changed the outcome. I even had to build a graph to find an optimal production level for maximum profit.
I had prepared for weeks, so the lack of feedback after that much time really stung. The journey was long, about three rounds over roughly three weeks. Being told I would not receive feedback made it harder to process how I did. Still, I appreciated that the structure was consistent and predictable, even if it was tough to get through.
Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ. Overall feedback: positive. Offer status: no offer.
