A recruiter reached out to me, and the first technical screening round involved a middle-to-hard LeetCode-style problem. After that, I moved into an onsite loop with three rounds: two coding rounds and one system design round. One coding round involved another LeetCode-style problem. The other was more open-ended and practical. I spent most of the time coding while the interviewer checked in only at the end.
The onsite was structured, though the practical coding round was draining because it left less room for back-and-forth. I still felt the interviews were testing real problem execution rather than theory alone. The system design round was the natural step up and fit the broader evaluation of the onsite.
I didn't get an offer. The process gave me a fair try across different formats: direct coding, applied coding, and system design. I didn't reach the result they wanted. What I remember most wasn't just the difficulty. The practical coding format demanded sustained focus without much guidance.
