The interview loop felt fairly standard for Google, but I needed confidence at every stage. After speaking with a recruiter, I had a technical screen. The interviewer asked me to introduce myself, explain what I knew about the company and say why I wanted the role. We then moved to coding questions. The interviewer stayed relaxed as I worked. My impression was that they wanted me to keep steady and revise my understanding when something didn't land.
A short time later, I went to the main office for a fast, intense interview. It included an advertising-related discussion and a question about how I'd advise someone using Google products for the first time. It felt as though they were assessing how I communicated ideas alongside my coding ability.
Overall, the difficulty seemed average, but the competition across stages felt real. I didn't make it through. What surprised me was how quickly the expectations built up: there was barely time to adjust to the pace before the next question arrived.
