Google Machine Learning Engineer Interview Experience — Three-Part Behavioral Hiring Assessment, No Coding

You have 4 days to finish it. It's not coding, it's BQ, and it has three parts in total. I got an email with the result 20 minutes after finishing. It took me almost an hour altogether, and toward the end I gradually lost patience... The first part was the hardest to decide on, and in the third part the right and wrong answers are pretty obvious. Luckily it saves as you go, so you can stop and come back later by clicking the link again. Maybe it was my network, but several times I clicked Next and the page just wouldn't load, so I kept hammering refresh...

Here is some personal experience, which may differ from the advice in some earlier posts (very subjective, for reference only!).

Most Like You & Least Like You
You get three statements and pick one as Most Like You and one as Least Like You. Another user previously summarized that the three options basically represent three personas: the reliable type, the collaborative type, and the communicator type. That's roughly right, though not exactly. Earlier posts all said the most important thing is consistency, meaning you pick one persona and stick with it, but I didn't actually do that, because some questions clearly have one answer that is the most like you and one that is the least. For most questions my Most Like You was a mix of the reliable and collaborative personas. I originally wanted to go collaborative all the way, but on some questions the reliable description among the three was clearly more important. It turns out you can pass without being "that consistent".

Strongly Agree & Strongly Disagree
You get a statement and five options from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree. There was only one question I really wasn't sure about and picked Agree on; everything else I answered with Strongly. This part is more clear-cut than the previous one. There is an earlier post about it that you can refer to. Make sure you don't rush and read carefully, because you can't cross a moral line. On one question I didn't read carefully at first and almost got misled by a trap adjective in the sentence into picking the opposite extreme.

The one I wasn't sure about was:
I believe my coworkers can significantly develop their working skills.
So should I believe it or not... 😂

Mostly Likely to Do & Mostly Unlikely to Do
This part is basically the company's routine training content: you're given a scenario, like a client wants to give you a gift, or a boss is harassing a coworker, and you decide what you'd do. Just remember to become a morality role model with zero human touch.

Good luck to everyone, and to me, with the job search! Hope we all land offers soon! 🙏
