I entered the software-developer process through college recruitment. It all happened in one day across five rounds. First was an online technical assessment on Safe Exam Browser with 35 questions in 60 minutes. It mixed multiple-choice technical questions with subjective prompts tied to code snippets. I had to predict output, spot errors, and work through basic logic-style programming questions. Most of it covered arrays, linked lists, trees, and OOPs.
After clearing that assessment, I had one coding round with a 30-minute limit. The problem was comparatively challenging and relied heavily on data-structure reasoning. I did not finish in time, and that ended my process. I was not shortlisted for the later technical and HR rounds I had heard would follow for people who cleared it. The coding-round timing was what got me.
