Lucid Motors Software Engineer interview: functional safety concerns and a month-long recruiter delay

Early on, the process seemed to be moving, but the ending was abrupt and frustrating. I interviewed for a functional safety team and asked about the team. The response wasn't very clear, which made me uneasy. When I looked into it, I noticed that people didn't seem to stay in the role for long. That felt like a red flag, so I decided not to continue after the hiring manager conversation.

Separately, I applied for another role and had a short call with the recruiter. Then I heard nothing for about a month. When they finally contacted me, it was to say that the position had been closed. These were separate interview processes, but both left me with the same impression. There was little momentum or clarity, and I was left waiting long enough that the outcome no longer felt negotiable.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: Negative. Offer status: No offer.
