Meta Software Engineer Interview Experience — Interviewer No-Show, Then Ticketmaster System Design

First, kudos to the recruiter — she replied promptly every time.

For one of the rounds, the interviewer was a no-show. I waited 10 minutes, then called the recruiter and she picked up right away. A bit later she told me the interviewer had something come up unexpectedly, that she'd already complained to that interviewer's manager, and she rescheduled the interview for the next day.

System Design
Design Ticketmaster with a 5-minute hold. The interviewer was pretty serious and seemed to specialize in databases — he glossed over everything else and zeroed in on database details, ACID and isolation levels.

Merge two arrays in place; kth largest. I listed out various approaches and ended up using a min heap.

He worked off my resume and focused heavily on conflict — asked how I convinced others when there was a conflict and how I resolved it, and asked about a conflict where I ultimately ended up deferring to others.
