My process took a couple of months. It began with an HR screen, followed by a hiring-manager interview on the role and typical customer-success questions, then a peer interview covering databases and cloud-native infrastructure. The last stage was a presentation challenge framed as a customer meeting.
I had a prep call before presenting to a fictitious customer panel, with interviewers playing different customer roles. It was high-stakes role play with limited preparation time. Because there was no real customer context, I had to work from what I could learn quickly rather than from natural product familiarity.
The earlier conversations were professional and positive. The disappointing part came at the end, when the feedback was generic. After putting in so much time, I asked for specifics and did not get anything meaningful. I could understand not being selected, but the lack of proportionate, transparent feedback made the process feel less respectful than it should have.
