NatWest Group Software Engineer Interview Experience: DSA and backend discussion before HR

After recruiter outreach, I had an initial video technical discussion with two interviewers. One focused more on DSA-style questions, and the other on a particular backend topic. The conversation sometimes felt detached, but the goal was clear: work through coding fundamentals and then go deeper on data structures and related backend ideas. I remember bringing the usual laptop and setup into a process that felt more like showing up and handling it than being heavily coached.

About a week later, I had another technical round focused specifically on DSA. The questions were medium to harder and used common patterns such as linked lists. An HR round followed, focused more on engagement and fit than deep behavioral scoring. Things moved quickly after that, and I received an offer letter soon after the final stages.

I was glad the process emphasized real technical problem-solving, even if the delivery could feel cold.

Location: Dallas, TX. Overall feedback: neutral. Offer status: got offer.
