Northrop Grumman Software Engineer interview, background and clearance questions

Northrop Grumman·Software Engineer·Reported Jan 2026

I had a single-round interview that felt pretty straightforward. It started with a general question about my background and career path, then moved quickly into a classic "hardest" or "most challenging task" question. I was also asked about any previous clearance and defense-related experience, which anchored the conversation.

There weren't any complicated coding challenges or deep discussions of engineering details. The questions focused on what I'd done and how I'd handled tougher situations. The whole thing didn't feel stressful, and it matched the easy difficulty I felt going in.

Location: United States. Overall feedback: Positive. Offer status: Got offer.
