Just got the notification that I was rejected after the learning round. I'd prepared for a long time, Palantir is a company I really wanted to get into and Delta is a role I really admired, so I'm a bit down. Wanted to share some of my experience, maybe it can help someone.
A friend referred me, and about a week later I got scheduled for the first screen, 20 minutes. At first I thought it was a recruiter call, but an FDSE showed up. They asked some of the things a recruiter would ask, and spent the rest of the time on questions about my resume and projects, plus one or two technical questions. The thing I'd say to watch out for is to think about how you can align yourself with the work Delta does. (Side rant: this round got its time changed at the last minute, and the later learning round also had its time changed at the last minute. That experience was kind of lousy.)
About half a week after the screen I got notified about the next rounds. There are two: the first is learning and the second is decomp, and you have to pass learning before you can do decomp (this is where I got rejected).
For learning, I read two posts on the forum that I thought were well written. My learning round was 45 minutes in total. After the first 15 minutes of BQ (pretty standard questions), the remaining ~30 minutes was problem solving. (I think it used to be 1 hour, I don't know if they changed it this year or what.)
The problem I got was basically a SQL-like language. I had to understand the code in a short time and explain it to the interviewer, and then start solving problems using the operations in the class. The two action functions I remember were one that maps to some data structure and another that's like a for loop (some kind of accumulation), and the small problems I had to do used each of these two functions. I got stuck here for a while, and the interviewer gave small hints. In the end I got 2 parts, 3 problems done. My guess is I was rejected because I wasn't sharp enough or something like that.
I also put together some mock problems of a few different types. They're not the real questions, but I made them by chatting with Claude and using the context of the learning round questions from two friends who were working as FDEs at Palantir at the time. Looking back, I think it's decent practice material, since there isn't much material out there to help you prepare, so it can serve as a reference.
Good luck to everyone who's applying!
