Reddit Software Engineer Interview Experience — Three Positive Rounds and a Rejection

The role closely matched my current work, and I felt well supported by the recruiter. The manager conversation compared my background with the team's plans. Other rounds involved designing a BigQuery agent, implementing a TCP server, and identifying problems in an existing ML prediction service before proposing improvements.

The coding tests acted as a TCP client. I learned the communication details during the interview, which left time to complete only the basic portion. I thought my system-design discussion had gone well, but it received a weak negative recommendation. Despite positive recommendations from the other three rounds, I was rejected. Given how closely the role matched my experience, I found the result disappointing.
