The technical interview was grounded in SRE essentials. I was asked about Linux commands, virtualization, operating-system and computer-network concepts, as well as my resume and projects. The questions kept returning to core computing knowledge rather than anything flashy.
The overall difficulty felt average, but it still tested whether my knowledge was solid. I made some mistakes because I was nervous, and that could have gone badly. Instead, the team was understanding and flexible. They did not treat a single misstep like an automatic failure and seemed to take time to see the person behind the skills.
I did not receive an offer, but it was a respectful, human experience. The breadth of OS, networking, virtualization, resume, and project discussion felt like a real effort to assess how I would operate in the role.
