The interview began with introductions and my resume, then moved to two probability problems.
For a question about three points lying within one semicircle, I used integration. An incorrect simplification left my answer off by a factor of two. When the interviewer requested a Monte Carlo simulation, I made another factor-of-two mistake.
The next question involved consecutive HH outcomes. I identified a Fibonacci-style recurrence, but an incorrect term led to the wrong result. The interviewer reacted positively, leaving me unsure whether the mistake had gone unnoticed or we were simply out of time. I was rejected afterward.
